BEHIND THE NUMBERS
Current expenses are inflated until retirement. The required corpus is the present value, at retirement, of each future month-end expense; expenses then rise monthly with inflation through the selected planning age.
Existing savings are projected to retirement. A beginning-of-month SIP is estimated for the remaining corpus gap. Pension, rent, taxes, healthcare shocks, legacy goals and other income are not included.
Retirement age must be greater than your current age, and the planning age must be greater than retirement age. A constant return and chosen planning age cannot guarantee lifetime income.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
It is a starting illustration. Longevity, taxes, market losses, healthcare and income sources need a personalised review.
This calculator does not model those cash flows. Discuss their reliability, inflation linkage and tax treatment before reducing the investment corpus you plan for.
