A dividend-yield mutual fund invests in dividend-paying companies. That strategy does not guarantee IDCW to investors. Enter a distribution assumption or a trailing 12-month per-unit total from the AMC.
IDCW reduces scheme NAV and may include capital. A high distribution yield is not an additional return. The income-target amount assumes an unchanged NAV basis and payout rate; it does not establish a sustainable withdrawal plan.

BEHIND THE NUMBERS
How this calculation works
Units = investment amount ÷ NAV. Annual gross distribution = units × annual distribution per unit. Net income deducts your effective tax assumption; monthly equivalent is annual income divided by 12.
Net distribution yield = annual distribution per unit ÷ NAV × (1 − tax rate). Target corpus = target annual net income ÷ net yield. A zero yield cannot support a positive income target.
The stress table reduces the assumed distribution while holding the NAV basis constant. This is an income sensitivity illustration, not a forecast of NAV or sustainable retirement withdrawals.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
Before you make a plan
No. Dividend yield describes the fund’s investment strategy. Growth and IDCW are distribution options. A Growth option does not pay investor IDCW merely because the scheme invests in dividend-paying stocks.
No. Distributions reduce NAV and can include capital. Total return also depends on the change in value of your remaining units. This calculator does not rank or recommend funds.
