BEHIND THE NUMBERS
How this calculation works
The reset applies before interest is charged in the selected month. Prior instalments use the current rate. Month 1 means the new rate applies immediately.
The keep-EMI path retains the original calculated payment. The keep-tenure path recalculates EMI on the remaining balance for the original remaining months. The new rate is held constant thereafter.
If the unchanged EMI does not cover interest, that path stops with a warning. It is not reported as a valid payoff date. Projection is bounded at 600 months.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
Before you make a plan
With an unchanged EMI, higher interest leaves less of each payment to repay principal. The effect can be large when the loan balance and remaining tenure are high.
No. You choose the reset rate and date. Actual benchmark resets, spreads and lender terms can differ from this single-reset illustration.
